The results are in for the Totally Vets photo competition!

This year 97 entries were contesting for a place in the Totally Vets 2017 Calendar. Children of both primary and intermediate age groups, from up in Taumarunui down to Oroua Downs were eligible to enter.

The categories of domestic pets, farm animals and people at work on the farm meant that a very broad range of pictures were received. This year we saw entries from a few children who were thinking outside the box. It was great to see!

The winner of the competition this year is Harry Bos, from Kairanga School with his picture "Playing in the waves". Harry won a Panasonic Lumix camera for himself and $200 for his school. Comments from the judges included "the framing of the shot made for an interesting picture and he captured the detail in the waves so well".

Playing in the waves - Winner

Second place was awarded to Tatyana Crawley, from Ross Intermediate, with her picture "Buddy". Tatyana won $100 for herself as well as $200 for her school. "Buddy amongst the snowdrops" definitely had the "cute" factor.

Buddy's beautiful ears - 2nd place

Max Dodunski, from Halcombe School, with his picture "Two puppies snuggling" was a very close third place.

Two puppies snuggling - 3rd place

We would like to thank all the children who sent in pictures this year. For those children who will be in years one to eight next year, keep taking photos and look out for details of entry and one of your pictures may be chosen for our 2018 calendar! The Totally Vets 2017 calendar will be available late November and clients are welcome to collect a copy from your vet or closest branch.
