Lindsay is a veterinarian with more than 25 years experience in the Manawatu and who has now spent the last 15 years providing a consultancy service to dairy farmers in the region. Add to this the experience of having grown up on a local dairy farm and he is well placed to understand and help his clients grow a profitable farming business.
Barny graduated from Cambridge University in 1997. Following three years in mixed practice in the UK, he decided to head over to New Zealand for a working OE. He never quite made it back home and has been working for Totally Vets (previously Manawatu Vet Services) since 2000. Barny is involved in all areas of production animal medicine but has a particular interest in BVD eradication programs, bull fertility and lameness prevention.
Emma was raised on a mixed sheep, beef and dairy farm in Northland and has been passionate about animals and farming all her life. After graduating from Massey in 2000 she worked in mixed animal practice for Manawatu Vet Services in Feilding. After stints in the UK and Whanganui, and a break with family, she returned to Totally Vets in 2017 as a Production Animal Vet. She loves the Manawatu and enjoys all production animal work, especially getting to know and help our farming clients.
Juan joined Totally Vets in 2013 after graduating from Massey University. Having a farming background meant working within the production side of the business made sense to him. His main interests lie in both dairy and beef cattle, sheep and deer. Left to his own devices, being out on a farm is always his preference than back at the clinic behind a desk.
Celine grew up in Tauranga and moved to the Manawatu for her degree where she decided she liked the area and wanted to stay after graduating in 2021. She is interested in both small and large animals but has a particular love for alpacas. Outside of work you'll find Celine exploring New Zealand's outdoors or relaxing and spending time with her husband, puppy and two cats.
Kate comes from a farming background. She currently lives on a dairy & dairy-beef farm near Kimbolton with her husband David and their two lovely children, Fiona & William. Originally from a dairy farm in the Waikato, after graduating Kate worked as a dairy vet in South Taranaki, before returning to the Manawatu to farm and start a family. She is excited to be part of the production animal team at Totally Vets and is looking forward to meeting everyone.
Robyn is originally from the UK where she worked in environmental engineering and consultancy before moving over to New Zealand in 2017. After spending a couple of years training horses in South Auckland, she decided to move to the Manawatu and retrain as a veterinarian where she graduated from Massey in 2023. Robyn enjoys working with all animals, but has a particular interest in production animal medicine. Outside of work you will find Robyn outdoors spending time with her dog Frank.
After graduating from Massey in 2021 Laura made the move to the sunny Bay of Plenty where she spent a year working as an equine and production animal vet with Te Puke Veterinary Centre. With most of her family being based in the Manawatu, Laura has welcomed the opportunity to join the Totally Vets Feilding branch in 2023. Outside of work hours you might find Laura exploring beautiful New Zealand, whether that be on foot, horseback, skis or a pair of roller skates. She is looking forward to getting to know all of our farming clients.
Christine joined the Totally Vets large animal team in May 2021 to help out with teatsealing, before joining us permanently as a vet tech! Christine enjoys getting out on-farm and building relationships with clients - many of whom she knows from the dairy industry. Christine spends her time outside of work running her dairy farm with her husband and running around after her three children.
I was born and raised on 400ha sheep and beef property north of fielding, where I have been working for the last couple of years before I got trained up last year as a large animal technician. I have a passion for large animals' especially sheep and cattle. Outside of work you will find me helping out on my family farm and going hunting.
Cameron was born and raised on a 650-hectare sheep and beef property northeast of Wanganui, over the last 30 years he has worked for companies that produce and supply such things as drenches, dips, metabolics and facial eczema preventives in the rural retail industry. Cameron really enjoys the farmer contact and working through solutions to maximise farmers' returns from their livestock.

Nick graduated from Massey University in 1990 and worked in general practice until 1997 when he returned to Massey for a residency in small animal internal medicine, attained membership in the Australasian College of Veterinary Scientists by examination, and graduated with a Masters in Veterinary Science in 2000. In 2004 he moved to the University of California where he attained a PhD in nutrition and immunology. Nick completed a residency in small animal clinical nutrition, and became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Nutrition by examination in 2004. In late 2005, he returned to Massey to lecture in small animal medicine and nutrition and is now working at the Feilding clinic as Veterinary Nutrition Specialist with a special interest in medical cases.
Petra graduated from Massey University in 2010. Petra worked as a mixed animal and companion animal veterinarian for 8 years and completed her Master of Veterinary Medicine. In 2018 she began advanced training in ophthalmology and attained membership in feline medicine at the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists (ANZCVS) by examination in 2021. Petra has completed an ANZCVS residency training program in veterinary ophthalmology, training in both the Manawatu with Eyevet Services and in Wellington with Pet Eye Care. Having completed all training requirements, Petra is eligible to complete her final examination required to achieve specialist status in 2025. Petra is involved with teaching ophthalmology to undergraduate and postgraduate students. Offering a range of medical and surgical ophthalmic services, Petra enjoys collaborating with clients and referring veterinarians to improve the health, comfort and welfare of animals with ocular problems.
Kat graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2006 and after a couple of years in mixed practice, moved to NZ to pursue a surgical training. She qualified as a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2016. She has a particular interest in airway disease and particularly the pathophysiology of brachycephalic dogs, but enjoys all aspects of soft tissue, orthopaedic and neurological surgery. After working in the hospital and teaching at Massey University, Kat joins Totally Vets as a specialist surgeon.
Helen grew up in the South Island but moved north and graduated from Massey in 2003. She worked in mixed practice in Raetihi, Taihape and Levin before ending up in Feilding. Helen loves working dogs and has been involved in various working dog research projects, and is also a trustee for the Retired Working Dogs NZ charity. Aside from working dogs, Helen is also interested in orthopaedics and dermatology.
Joanne was raised on a sheep and beef farm in the Hawke's Bay. She graduated from Massey in 1992 and after working in mixed practice in Taranaki came to the Manawatu. She began working for Manawatu Vet Services (now Totally Vets) in 1994. After a stint travelling and then working in Somerset England, and a break with family, Joanne returned to Totally Vets. She loves both cats and dogs and has a soft spot for those working dogs.

Susan emigrated from the UK in 2008. She worked as a small animal vet at Totally Vets, then in Christchurch and now back in Feilding. Susan enjoys the variety in companion animal work, especially surgery.
Raised in Wellington, Tanya enjoyed a corporate career before returning to study to become a veterinarian. After graduating from Massey in 2021, she decided to put down permanent roots in the Manawatu and joined the Totally Vets team. She loves working with the variety of animals that visit the clinic but will happily confess to a soft spot for cats. Outside of work she's kept busy with two small children, and plans to have cats again in the near future.
Ashleigh graduated with a Bachelor of Veterinary Technology in 2014 and has been practicing as a Vet Nurse/Tech ever since. She loves making a difference to the lives of both the owners and the animals, taking care of them when they are unwell and of course all the cuddles! In her spare time Ashleigh enjoys the outdoors, tramping and exploring with her family and her favourite furbaby Koda the Border Collie.
Aleysha was born in south Canterbury but grew up in the Netherlands. In 2022 she completed her Bachelor of Veterinary Nursing qualification but had been working as a qualified nurse since 2019. Aleysha has a particular interest in surgery, anaesthesia, emergency and critical care. Hobbies outside of work include running, playing hockey, baking, doing puzzles, and spending time with her partner and family. She currently has two cats at home but will likely will end up with a lot more animals as she has a habit of picking up strays from work!
Tasha started working at Totally Vets in 2014 after completing her Vet nurse diploma. She has now joined the specialist medicine team and is enjoying being involved in complex procedures and patient care
Debbie started at Manawatu Vets about a year after finishing school and has been with the company through its change to Totally Vets. She feels very lucky to work with the animals she sees, along with her teammates, to make sure they receive the best care possible.
After completing her Veterinary Nurse qualification in 2014, Sarah enjoyed many roles around North Canterbury and Hawke's Bay as a Veterinary Nurse. Sarah enjoys utilising her veterinary skills as well as working alongside a highly skilled team.
Helen has worked for Totally Vets since 2003 after leaving her first career as a human nurse. She enjoys the variety and challenges of the job, especially regarding surgery and anaesthesia. She thinks working with animals is a privilege as there is a lot they can teach us. Her cat Hazel is a 2010 rescue and Millie the Huntaway (who she shares with family) is from Retired Working Dogs NZ.
Jess has been working as a Veterinary Nurse since 2015 when she completed her Diploma in Veterinary Nursing. She was born and raised in Palmerston North. Jess has played football for Marist for over 12 years and played national level Futsal. She currently owns four cats - Margaret, Akela, Rocket and Loki, who were all rescues.
Lorna graduated in 2012 and started working for Totally Vets in 2018. She is especially interested in rehabilitation and physiotherapy and loves all animals, big and small.
Megan has spent most of her career working in Emergency and Critical Care Hospitals in Australia. She returned to New Zealand and joined the team at Totally Vets in 2020.
Vanessa grew up on a dairy farm in the Manawatu, which meant she naturally progressed into a career in Veterinary Nursing, qualifying with Otago Polytechnic. Vanessa has gained a great deal of experience in the veterinary world over the last 15 years. Her passions outside of work are western riding, running a lifestyle block and most importantly being a Mum.
I have been a vet nurse since 2015 and recently moved down to the Manawatu region. I am interested in surgery and rehabilitation and hope to have an animal of my own one day soon, to complete our household.

Basia has a great balance of corporate experience and production animal experience, which makes her a great asset to the team. She worked and lived on dairy farms for seven years and was heavily involved with calf-rearing in the Manawatu area. She loves working with animals (and especially dotes on her dog Abadden) and making a difference where possible.
Anne came to Totally Vets following 25 years at Massey University based in and around the Veterinary Institute. For the last 18 years, Anne was mostly in the Parasitology Laboratory as a technician. As well as meeting clients, and growing relationships to meet their needs, a big part of her role is to process submissions in our in-house diagnostic laboratory.

Sharon was born on the Island of Guernsey, one of a group of small islands located in the English Channel between England and France. Sharon worked as a receptionist at the local vets on Guernsey, and relocated to New Zealand with her husband and three dogs in 2019. Sharon has a strong interest in anything to do with animals, and describes herself as an outside girl who is most comfortable in a thick pair of socks and gumboots!
Renee joined our customer services team at the beginning of 2023 and is loving meeting all our farming clients in person and on the phone. Renee enjoys learning new and interesting things every day and enjoys a challenge. In her spare time Renee is studying to be a large animal vet technician so will be out on farm in the near future.

Peter first began working in the Manawatu in 2002. Since then he has taken a couple of breaks to work overseas, predominantly in the UK. Peter now leads and supports the Awapuni Veterinarian team. His passion is cows and preventative health strategies, particularly nutrition as a driver of health and production. Peter loves working with his clients to ensure that their herds are as healthy and productive as possible.
Greg spent his early years in mixed practice in Rotorua working with dairy cows, deer, sheep and beef, horses and even companion animals. After a few years of OE that included locums in the UK, he eventually returned to his home province and started work at Manawatu Veterinary Services in Feilding, that has since become Totally Vets. Greg has an interest in all things dairy, and in particular mastitis, but still enjoys the opportunity to work with any of the production animal species, and even the occasional horse.
Georgina graduated from Massey University and initially worked in the Hawke’s Bay. Georgina grew up on a farm in the Manawatu and has returned to the area to work here at Awapuni after a stint at Totally Vets Taumarunui. She has an interest in all animals from cattle, sheep, deer, and horses to dogs and cats. Outside of work, basketball, netball and now golf are keeping her very busy.
Phylisia graduated from Murdoch University in 2016 and spent some time working in Western Australia as an equine vet before returning home to Singapore to continue working with horses in 2017. Her love for travel and adventure brought Phylisia to New Zealand and she joined Totally Vets in 2021. She gets excited about equine lameness workups and performance horse medicine but also enjoys working with different species, especially companion animals.
João is well travelled and has a keen passion for equine reproduction with extensive experience in artificial insemination (fresh, chilled and frozen), embryo transfer, semen collection and freezing.
João graduated from Federal University of Vicosa Brazil in 2001 and completed a two-year residency in large animal reproduction, medicine, and surgery at Londrina State University. João then gained extensive experience as a self-employed veterinarian in Brazil preforming artificial insemination, embryo transfer and semen freezing. In 2017 João then went to China to run a massive embryo transfer program before heading to Queensland to work in a horse breeding veterinary practice focusing on Thoroughbred stud work, artificial insemination, embryo transfer, semen collection and freezing.

Tanya graduated from Massey in 2021 and stayed to enjoy the Manawatu instead of returning to her hometown of Wellington. She loves small animal practice and the variety of pets that visit the clinic but will happily confess to a soft spot for cats. Outside of work she's kept busy with two small children and any remaining downtime is spent rescuing inedible objects from the mouth of her Maine Coon, Geoffrey. Tanya splits her time consulting between our Awapuni and Feilding clinics.
Selena started with Totally Vets in 2010 in customer services. She moved into her current role as a production animal technician and ventured out on farm alongside the production animal veterinarians, thoroughly enjoying getting her hands dirty. Taking bloods, carrying out herd BCS, vaccination programs, dry cow therapy and teat sealing, calf disbudding are just some of her capabilities - she's also a dab hand in the kitchen!

Renee joined the team in August 2022 after working in mixed practice in the Central North Island for the past 3 years. She qualified in 2015 whilst working in Northland and studying by distance learning. At home she has an older aged cat and young, very energetic Huntaway that she enjoys competing in a variety of dog sports with.
Jess was born in Mauritius (where the dodo bird comes from). Since graduating in 2017, Jess worked as an equine and farm services vet tech, then in 24/7 pet emergency.
“I have a horse, two dogs and pet hubby who all keep me plenty busy outside of work. I have a big interest in the equine industry and try to attend a variety of activities with my horse whenever possible.”
Jodie has come to us from Massey University, where she worked for 30 years in a variety of roles including surgery nursing, senior equine nursing supervisor, and procurement and inventory. With all this experience, we are very lucky to have her! When Jodie isn't in the office she enjoys walking, horse riding and spending time with her new granddaughter.
Rochelle has worked in various roles within the company for the last five years. Growing up on a large lifestyle block, her family raised calves and bred the odd horse here and there. Rochelle has ridden horses from the time she could walk, enjoying three day eventing until her late 20’s then turning to straight dressage in the later years, riding to a high level. Rochelle enjoys running the Awapuni diary and building customer relationship with our clients.
Sophie brings a wide range of knowledge and experience to this role, having worked for the Massey University Farm Services department for three years prior to joining us. When Sophie isn’t at work she enjoys spending time with her friends and family.
